UpKeepers: A Family History of Hands-On Work
We're Austin and Al, brothers and owners of UpKeepers. Our journey in the world of home improvement and handyman services began with a rich family legacy. Inspired by our Grandpa and Dad, who were passionate about building and repairing homes, we embarked on a lifelong quest to learn the ropes. From an early age, we were their eager apprentices, spending our summers acquiring skills that extend far beyond craftsmanship. These experiences instilled in us the values of discipline and focus, which have shaped our professional journey.

Meet Austin
​
Hey, I'm Austin! Over the last decade, I've had the privilege of living and traveling in Europe and Bali with my wife and children. During my time abroad, I primarily worked in project management and digital media. I've created websites, developed brands, and produced videos for various companies. I also specialized in training employees to manage their workloads effectively and communicate seamlessly within remote teams.
Working remotely made our lifestyle possible, but I found myself feeling unwell and dissatisfied sitting at a desk all day. After a summer remodeling homes with my father-in-law in Germany, I decided it was hands-on work from here on out. Luckily, my wife had the opportunity to open a school here in Scottsdale, which was the perfect opportunity to team up with my brother Al and create UpKeepers.

Beyond work, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors with my family through activities like hiking, camping, and swimming. I'm also an enthusiastic practitioner and coach of jiu-jitsu, competing and teaching within our local community.

Meet Al
I'm Al, and I've spent the last seven years as a handyman along the scenic seacoast of New Hampshire. My expertise extends into the realm of masonry, where I've been engaged in intricate stonework projects. The satisfaction of physically crafting tangible, visible results has been a driving force throughout my career. The daily challenges of problem-solving in various mediums have become a source of inspiration. Being a jack-of-all-trades is something I take pride in.
Outside of work, my passion for the outdoors takes center stage. I indulge in activities like camping, shooting, climbing, hiking, and generally relishing the natural world.
